Squint & PO

Squint & PO

"Strabismus, or misaligned eyes, presents in a variety of ways; it is generally classified by the direction and pattern of the misalignment. The most common of these misalignments is esotropia, commonly called “crossed eyes” and sometimes referred to as “Lazy eye” or “squint.”"

Unlike most of animals, humans enjoy highest quality of vision i.e. binocular vision and stereopsis. When one eye is deviated, the person will not be able to use both eyes together and loses this fine vision. There are some common misconceptions about squint or lazy eye, among general population. When squint appears in children, it needs to be treated at the earliest (not to wait till child grows) possible to restore this fine vision. The treatment for squint can be with corrective glasses or surgery or both.

At G V Eye World, we have facility to evaluate small children and perform procedure under general anaesthesia.
